a brawny, bloody slice of escapism...

...NO FLESH SHALL BE SPARED trumps pretty much every summer action movie released over the past few years in terms of providing muscular, rambunctious fun. A peek into a lesser-explored dimension of the zombie mythos is always welcome, and if you perhaps know of any real fourteen-year-old-boys that you’d like to see put down the game controller and dig into an actual book, buy them NO FLESH SHALL BE SPARED now and thank FANGORIA later.

get blown away...

“…This book is f***ing amazing. If you’re into zombies or you’re just into suspense, good novels, whatever, you need to give it a peek… great book. Man, talk about coming out of the gate strong. This book is blowing me away.”

Mitchell Boone, excerpt from Boone Brothers podcast
...wildly original

I don't care HOW many zombie books you've read, you've never read one like this one. WOW! Thom Carnell 's first novel is wildly original as well as being gooey good fun.
For one thing, the feel of the book is more two-fisted adventure than straight-up horror. The hero, Cleese, reminds me of a more cynical (and funnier) version Lee Child's badass character Jack Reacher. Cleese is a tough guy in a tough world....

Interestingly, NFSBS isn't set during the zombie apocalypse. It's already happened, and things are (more or less) under control. Fighting zombies is now a televised, big-money sport. Cleese gets press-ganged into the world of the zombie arena, where he flourishes.

Some of my favorite parts of the book are set in the zombie-fighting training camp. The characters are diverse and fascinating. The fight scenes are gritty, gruesome, and realistic.

If you're looking for a fresh take on the zombie tale, check this book out. It kicks some serious butt (both dead and alive butt).

...a devastating debut novel
Just when I thought no writer could tell an engaging story within the done-to-death zombie genre, along comes Carnell with a sledgehammer tale of the living dead. Like Lindqvist’s Handling The Dead, No Flesh Shall Be Spared is a unique, refreshing take on the undead mythos. Imagine if Martin Scorsese took over the Ultimate Fighting cartels in a world gone mad. Carnell has delivered a devastating debut novel.

...a force to be reckoned with
No Flesh Shall Be Spared is an impressive debut novel from Carnell that shows surprising depth and character development. He also shows the ability to repulse and fascinate in the same keystroke… Carnell has an interesting writing style, one part Lansdale, one part King, with just a splash of Dashiell Hammett thrown in for good measure.
Scott A. Johnson, Dread Central

...worth every bloody minute of it
Carnell writes with the raw sense memory of a battered child and the brute muscularity of a bouncer in a bar fight. His debut novel No Flesh Shall Be Spared is scarred, scary, deeply disturbed, and worth every bloody minute of it. You have to read this book. You might need therapy later."
Craig Spector, author: Underground, To Bury The Dead; (with John Skipp) Animals, The Light At The End

KUDOS FROM BEYOND THE GRAVE
Mr. Carnell is a master storyteller. He understands that at the heart of a great tale of terror is a story so spellbinding that readers are gripped with curiosity and fear. My pulse raced, sweat formed above my brow, my blood boiled, and I’m dead. I just wish I were alive to direct this paragon of storytelling.

William Castle, iconic director: House on Haunted Hill, The Tingler, Thirteen Ghosts
